 | MEET THE TEAM: Jake Fotheringham, General Manager
Jake has been long time friends with Nate and TWS since the very beginning. We couldn't be more excited or more thankful for him to join our team this year as GM.
Jake has been married to his better half for 14 years and has two sons who love adventure and being on the water just as much as Jake does.
Jake grew up in the mountains of northern Utah, which set the foundation for his love of fishing, four-wheeling, mountain biking, and surfing on the mountain lakes. He also enjoys a day out on the golf course in his spare time, but his favorite way to spend a day off is with his family on the water.
Even though Jake saw himself growing up to be a pilot, he couldn't be happier working around boats! The thing Jake likes most about working at TWS is the fact he gets to help individuals and families create lasting memories together on the water!
Please help us as we welcome Jake to our team! |

 | Florida's Newest Nature Preserve For the first time in 32 years, Florida lawmakers have designated a new nature preserve: the Nature Coast Aquatic Preserve. The preserve consists of 800 square of gulf coast water off Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco counties. Approximately 400,000 acres of seagrass will be protected, and the preserve is home to 19 endangered species. The Nature Coast Aquatic Preserve will connect with two existing aquatic preserves to create a contiguous protected area from the Big Bend to Pinellas County. Read more here.

 | How to Clean Your Fishing Reels Our friends at Mercury Marine remind us that it's important to clean your fishing reels regularly to remove salt and other minerals that collect in the mechanisms.
They recommend a simple cleaning process after every use and a deep cleaning every few months or seasonally, depending on how often you fish.
To clean your reels after each use, spray them off gently, then allow them to dry or towel-dry them, then spray a corrosion inhibitor on a rag and wipe down the metal parts.
The deep cleaning involves removing the reel from the rod. To read all the instructions, jump over here.
By following their recommendations, you will get the most life out of your reels. |
